Why are your OHR login standards so stringent?

We require a certain level of technical expertise from our users to ensure the security and integrity of our product. Stringent login standards are in place to protect three key groups: you, the consumer; our entire user base; and SowCo Develops. Users must create a strong password of at least 12 characters and enable two-factor authentication (2FA) using an app that supports the industry-standard TOTP protocol. Compatible apps include Microsoft Authenticator, 1Password, LastPass, Authy, Google Authenticator, Duo, and other trusted key generators.

While we recognize that this added step may deter some potential customers, it ensures that our user base consists of individuals knowledgeable enough to maintain these security measures. This reduces the risk of data breaches due to inadequate security practices. It also protects one of SowCo Develops’ most valuable resources, our employee’s time, preventing prolonged investigations, follow-up, and damage control caused by avoidable breaches. By maintaining these high standards, we can keep operating costs low and pass those savings on to you, the customer. Moreover, this requirement helps foster a technically-savvy community that collaborates to ensure the safety of all data, assets, and systems, thereby strengthening the OHR community as a whole.
