What is a records management system?

A records management system is defined by Techopedia as “the management of records for an organization throughout the records life-cycle.” It is an information system as defined by Britannica and Wikipedia. Examples of records management systems that the average person uses everyday are the systems we access for our financial records from our bank, our medical records from our doctor or insurance company, our membership records from our gym, or our social media posts from our apps.
